"Don't ever let anyone dull your sparkle."

On Friday night me and my boy went on a date night to a recently opened restaurant in London called The Tramshed. There has been a hype around this restaurant since before it even opened, as it features the controversial new art piece by Damien Hirst. And this piece is a preserved in formaldehyde Hereford cow with a cockerel standing on its back, raised on a single huge plinth in the centre of the restaurant, which completely dominates the space. It is absolutely impressive and…. huge.

The chef’s - Mark Hix - concept is simple: he only serves chicken or steak, somehow suggesting that too much choice is simply not necessary. The food was lovely (I had steak salad, husb had the whole chicken), although in my opinion nothing extraordinary. However, it was a lovely place to go to for our anniversary dinner (we’ve been together for six years!).

Funny fact: I used to work in that building and I know this space so well, it was amazing to see how it got transformed into a restaurant! The building was built in 1905 and served as a shed for trams. It’s absolutely unique and it holds some dear memories in my heart!
