Weekends are made for baking and trying out new recipes. These are Maple-Oatmeal Scones I made this morning. They were delicious and I am very proud of myself!
As my husband wanted to go out shopping today, I decided it would be a good idea to have a nice brunch beforehand (since I’ve wanted to go out for one for weeks now). I knew where I wanted to go - Grind Coffee Bar at Westfield Stratford City. These guys not only make really good food but also one of the best coffees in London.

I couldn’t decide what to have to eat as all the things on the menu looked and sounded delicious, but I finally made my choice.

{Ricotta pancakes with poached fruit, candied pistachios and Greek yoghurt}

{My husband’s choice - Eggs Benedict with ham off the bone, homemade hollandaise sauce and fresh chives on a toasted muffin}
Oh wow, it was AMAZING.
The pancakes were so light and fluffy and the poached fruit sweet, but with a little bit of sourness to it. The Greek yoghurt didn’t feel heavy and the whole composition was very eye-pleasing. My husband’s food was also delicious (I had the Eggs Benedict before and really liked them) and he looked very pleased with his choice!

Even though I couldn’t eat anything else after having my pancakes, I am now dreaming of their carrot cake cupcake….

I think it’s time for lunch…

This was one of the nicest breakfasts I’ve had in a long time (at Schwarzes Cafe in Berlin).
Brunch time!
